How we operate

Our certifications
Each year, the State of Hawaii certifies us to participate in its Community Care Foster Family Home (CCFFH) program. In other words, we are an adult foster care home. Our other certifications include:
HIPAA, Privacy, Confidentiality Issues
Caring for Dementia & Alzheimer’s clients
Safety in the home, for clients, family & caregivers
Prevention of contraction, ROM, range of motion
Caring for clients with Dysphagia, prevention of chocking, Special diet, pureed, different kinds of consistency
Our services
We provide the following to our clients:
Personal care
Homemaking services
Transportation as needed
Clients may also receive private duty nursing services, respite care, or adult day health services as part of their care plan.

Adults who have significant functional and medical needs and choose to live in an alternative home like ours
To receive services, interested clients must:
Be eligible for Medicaid
Require nursing facility levels of care
Meet other program-related requirements
Patient care
We work with our clients and their families to ensure they receive the best possible care. We also partner with support teams to facilitate the best care for our clients. These teams include:
Case managers
Social workers
Hospitals
Nurses
Physicians
Physical Therapists
Rehab Centers
Day care centers
Local pharmacies
Medical supply companies
Payment schedule
Payment is due monthly for patient care, room, and board.
For Medicaid clients
We receive payment on the 4th week of the following month after care is provided for clients in the Medicaid Program.
Room and board is paid from their SSI and Social Security benefits and we receive the payment for the room and board on the 1st week of the month.
For private clients
Payment for our private client is due before the beginning of the month and covers care, room and board.
The number of residents accepted to Kalihi Valley RACs shall not exceed its licensed capacity and capabilities as determined by the Department of Human Services.
